Dataset explanation and changelog for 2016 Brisbane strategic transport demand model (BSTM) – screenline validation data A screenline (SL) is an artificial line that joints multiple traffic count sites in a way that creates a border that captures all the traffic passing through the line (cordon). It is used for traffic modelling and analysis purposes. ## Data 2016 data was obtained by survey which was undertaken using MetroCount equipment (automatic tubes) and video cameras between April and June 2016. Where sites were unable to be surveyed, TARS was used to obtain traffic count data instead. TARS: Traffic Analysis and Reporting System is a traffic information system that provides traffic volumes information. Non_classifed sites were post processed and classified using the previously surveyed data from 2012. Weekday Average Daily Traffic counts are aggregated into 3 vehicle classes used for transport modelling purposes. Vehicle Classes: - Car = Private Vehicle - MCV = medium commercial vehicle - HCV = heavy commercial vehicle Time Periods: - AM peak = mornings 7am-9am - OP = off-peak 9am-4pm - PM peak = afternoons 4pm-6pm - EV = evenings / night 6pm-7am - WD = weekdays Monday - Friday ## Licence Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) ## Changelog Changes that have been applied to the data since 2012 - “point” column renamed to “SL Point” - “Description” column renamed to “SL Name” and data cleansed to remove excess leading spaces - “STUDY AREA” column removed - “Dir” column removed – see “Direction” - “name” column renamed “SL Point Name” - “Location” column renamed “SL Location” - “Direct.” column renamed to “Direction” - “Collection Method” column added to indicate method used to obtain data - values include Survey and TARS. - Data cleansed to improve quality and consistency for example; extra blank rows and spaces have been removed
